Robinhood’s Cat Joke Mints VRAX and Super Cat

Robinhood posted that Commander Vrax is a cat. Super Cat then jumped 750% and a VRAX ticker hit $26 million, with no brokerage listing.

Commander VRAX rose about 50% and Super Cat about 750% in 24 hours, CoinGecko figures showed on October 2. VRAX sat near a $26 million market cap. Super Cat sat near $20 million. Both trade on decentralized pools on Robinhood Chain, not in the Robinhood brokerage app.

The spark was a company joke. On September 29, 2026, @RobinhoodApp posted that Commander Vrax, the villain from that night’s HOOD Summit skit, is a cat. Traders put a ticker on the character within minutes. Super Cat is a different coin. It never appears in the skit.

Robinhood Posted a Joke and a Market Opened

Robinhood announced its third annual HOOD Summit on August 10, 2026, as a two-day Houston show titled Engines of Creation. Chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev’s keynote was set for 5:30 p.m. CT on September 29 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The official stream wrapped product demos in a starship plot.

Around minute 41, the Vrax enter as a civilization that talked about open markets and then tried to lock them. Around 1:13, the commander’s face turns feline. In the skit he says, “I am not a cat.”

After the keynote, the company account posted a single line with a cat emoji and no contract address.

THE HOOD SUMMIT CLOCK

  1. August 10, 2026: Robinhood announces HOOD Summit in Houston for September 29 and 30.
  2. September 29, 5:30 p.m. CT: Tenev opens the Engines of Creation keynote.
  3. Around minute 41: The Vrax appear as the skit’s greedy foil.
  4. Around 1:13: The commander’s face goes feline and he denies being a cat.
  5. September 29, 11:29 p.m. UTC: @RobinhoodApp posts that Commander Vrax is a cat now.
  6. About 20 seconds later: DEX Screener indexes a VRAX/USDG pair on Robinhood Chain.
  7. October 2, 2026: CoinGecko figures print the 50% and 750% 24-hour moves.

DEX Screener dates that first VRAX/USDG pair to contract 0x94641b97010608c3827fb058074889f19868ff33. The listing uses Robinhood’s post as a social link. The post still does not name a token.

The $26 Million Ticker Is a Second Contract

The CoinGecko print that put Commander VRAX near $26 million on October 2 points at a different address, 0x56fa3670e19396c4ee8f7775b49ceaede04a84ef. Trackers also keep a third Commander Vrax page whose contract is not either of those two. Same name. Same cat story. Separate markets.

That split is the tell. The company wrote a punchline. The chain is permissionless, so anyone can attach a ticker to the screenshot. The contract that went live with the post is not the one behind the $26 million headline. A later VRAX coin took the print that moved across the tape on October 2.

THE TICKERS BEHIND THE HEADLINE

Name Contract What it is October 2 CoinGecko print
Commander VRAX 0x56fa3670e19396c4ee8f7775b49ceaede04a84ef Listing behind the $26 million figure About $26 million, up about 50%
Early VRAX pair 0x94641b97010608c3827fb058074889f19868ff33 DEX Screener pair about 20 seconds after the post Not that $26 million listing
Super Cat (SC) 0xf15aab29c3d22cf2b469d4a9b0c0a72f31ba0711 Community coin pitched as Super Inu’s partner About $20 million, up about 750%

None of the three is a Robinhood Assets brokerage product. None names a public team or a product roadmap. Combined, the two headline caps were about $46 million, still well under CASHCAT’s first-week range of about $100 million to $180 million.

Super Cat Never Needed the Summit Skit

Super Cat is not Commander Vrax. Its site calls the token Super Inu’s best partner, now live on Robinhood, with a blue suit, a red cape, and the ticker SC. It also says, “Robinhood is simply where the story is listed.” That is a chain address, not an issuer.

GeckoTerminal’s Super Cat Uniswap V3 pool showed how thin the market under that $20 million cap really was. The SC/WETH pool, about a day old, carried a 0.01% fee, about $18.4 million in 24-hour volume, about $274,700 of liquidity, and 1,982 holders. It logged 25,707 transactions in 24 hours. Supply is 1 billion tokens.

A pool that small can print a 750% candle. It can give the candle back. Super Cat still has no confirmed brokerage listing. It still has no named builder on a public roadmap. It still rode the same cat tape as the summit joke it does not appear in.

WHAT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL PRODUCT

  • The post: Robinhood named the character and did not name a contract.
  • The listing: Neither VRAX nor Super Cat has a confirmed Robinhood Assets brokerage listing.
  • The partner line: Super Cat’s own page ties it to Super Inu and to the chain, not to the company.
  • The copies: More than one VRAX contract uses the same story and the same cat face.

Traders who treat a company meme as a minting event have to match the full address. The ticker alone is not a product.

Tokenized Nvidia Trails the Cat Tickers

Robinhood Chain opened public mainnet on July 1, 2026, as an Arbitrum Orbit Ethereum layer 2 sold for tokenized stocks and other real-world assets. Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood’s crypto GM, put the first week at more than 17 million transactions, nearly 350,000 addresses, roughly $250 million in protocol TVL, and over $1 billion in DEX volume.

CASHCAT, a fan token built on the CashCat name Tenev and Baiju Bhatt used before Robinhood, did a large share of that early tape. On July 8 the chain logged between $560 million and $570 million in 24-hour DEX volume, and CASHCAT accounted for about $98 million of it. Later waves, including Juggernaut’s 500% search-page rally, followed the same retail path when tracker pages and meme flow lined up.

The stock-token side never caught that speed. CoinGecko’s Robinhood chain market list, a separate reading from the October 2 meme print, showed a tokenized NVIDIA coin near $17.7 million with about $43.5 million in 24-hour volume, and a tokenized SPY coin near $24.3 million with about $35.9 million in volume. The same dashboard put chain TVL near $1.04 billion and 24-hour volume near $1.37 billion, with Uniswap V3 on Robinhood taking 71.6% of DEX share.

CATS AND STOCK TOKENS

Asset Role on the chain Market cap cited 24-hour change or volume
Commander VRAX Summit-character memecoin $26 million (CoinGecko, Oct 2) About 50%
Super Cat Unofficial Super Inu partner $20 million (CoinGecko, Oct 2) About 750%
NVIDIA stock token Tokenized share $17.7 million (CoinGecko chain list) About $43.5 million volume
SPY stock token Tokenized ETF $24.3 million (CoinGecko chain list) About $35.9 million volume

The cats and the stock tokens sit in the same small-tens-of-millions band on those readings. The difference is speed. The stock tokens move with the shares they track. The cats move when the company posts a joke.

Two in Three Pons Wallets Left Poorer

The machine under those jokes is a launchpad. Bitquery’s on-chain audit of Pons, covering 207,893 coins in 32 days from August 3 to September 3, 2026, is the cleanest picture of how a name becomes a market on this chain. A coin costs a few dollars and about a minute. The factory mints 1 billion tokens onto a curve. If the reserve fills, the coin graduates to Uniswap.

Only 3,228 of those coins, 1.55%, filled the reserve. Half of the ones that did got there within 4 minutes. Traders put $736 million through the curves and $2.14 billion through the coins after they graduated. Pons lets a creator back a coin with ether, a dollar stablecoin, or a tokenized share such as Nvidia, which no other launchpad in that study offered.

PONS IN 32 DAYS

  • Graduation rate: 3,228 of 207,893 coins reached Uniswap, or 1.55%.
  • The house cut: Coin makers shared $9.7 million in fees; the median take was $15.73, and 16 makers cleared $10,000.
  • The crowd: 66.8% of 314,736 wallets finished with less than they started.
  • The follow-up: Bitquery later tied 56 memecoin launches, from July 10 to September 23, to a suspected rug-pull group with about $15.5 million in net take.

That is the market Robinhood’s cat line dropped into. A screenshot can become a ticker in seconds. Most of those tickers never graduate. Most wallets that touch the ones that do leave poorer.

Tenev’s Dead-End Line Lasted Six Days

Tenev did not design this as the chain’s product. On July 2, 2026, the day after mainnet, he said tokenized real-world assets were crypto’s durable direction and memecoins were largely a dead end. CASHCAT then went vertical on the permissionless chain the company could not keep a cat off of.

While we’re building robinhood chain to be the best chain for RWA … it works great for memes too

Vlad Tenev, CEO, on X, July 8, 2026

The dead-end line lasted six days. He did not list CASHCAT. He did not list VRAX. He did not list Super Cat. He said the rails work for memes, and the rails then treated a summit punchline as inventory.

The September 29 post is the same move in a smaller costume. No contract. No listing. A character with a new face. The market did the rest, including minting more than one VRAX and a caped cat that is not in the play.

A $274,700 Pool Cannot Carry That Tape

Super Cat’s $18.4 million of 24-hour volume sat on about $274,700 of Uniswap liquidity. That is enough depth to advertise a 750% day and not enough to absorb it. VRAX’s $26 million print is the same shape: a CoinGecko cap on a contract that is not the first pair, with lookalikes still in circulation.

Robinhood still has not put either token in the brokerage. Tenev has not added a new line on Commander Vrax since the cat post. Until that changes, the chain’s busiest hours still belong to unlisted community coins, and the stock tokens it was built to host remain the slower market on the same rails.
