Binance Pays XRP Again to Park Ripple’s RLUSD
Binance’s third RLUSD coupon pays $800,000 in XRP over four weeks, drops the $500 trading gate, and leaves XRP’s price on the sidelines.
Binance will open a four-week airdrop at 00:00 UTC on September 25 that pays $800,000 in XRP to users who hold Ripple USD on the exchange. Spot and Funding balances now count, and the $500 daily trading rule from the last two rounds is gone. XRP traded near $1.51 on September 24, under a 24-hour high of $1.64.
The notice is being sold as XRP news. The product on the page is a deposit coupon for RLUSD, sized at 0.034% of a $2.37 billion stablecoin, with a 60% haircut on funds looped in from other dollar coins.
Binance Drops the $500 Trading Gate
The exchange published the terms on September 23. Eligible users share $800,000 in XRP over four weeks, paid in four Friday drops through 00:00 UTC on October 23. Holdings in Spot, Funding, Earn Flexible Savings, and Margin (cross, isolated, or portfolio) all feed the count.
One old lock is still there. A user still needs at least 0.01 RLUSD in Earn or Margin to qualify. Once that dust sits in those two books, Spot and Funding balances join the pile. That is the expansion: idle RLUSD can now earn the coupon without a derivatives ticket.
The last two rounds also demanded about $500 a day in Margin or Futures volume, using RLUSD as collateral. That filter is absent from the new notice. Weekly XRP still lands in the Spot wallet of the master account, with broker rewards sent to virtual sub-accounts, and sub-account balances rolled up at the master level.
There is no individual cap on rewards. Users’ rewards depend on their qualifying balance relative to the total qualifying balance of all eligible users and other factors.
Binance Team, RLUSD campaign announcement, September 2026
Payouts are due by 18:00 UTC each Friday. Binance sets the XRP token value from its official market closing price one day before each drop, then updates the effective APR in the same notice after the money goes out.
$800,000 Against a $2.37 Billion Coin
The prize is fixed in dollars, not in a set XRP count, so a cheaper XRP simply means more tokens for the same $800,000. Split four ways, that is $200,000 of XRP a week against whatever qualifying balance the whole user base shows.
THE POOL VERSUS THE COIN
- Prize pool: $800,000 in XRP, four weekly installments, no per-user cap.
- RLUSD supply: $2.37 billion on September 24, per stables.cool, down 2.46% on the day and up 13.02% over 30 days.
- Share of float: $800,000 is 0.034% of that $2.37 billion supply.
- XRP print: $1.51 on September 24 on CoinMarketCap, with 24-hour volume off 18%.
Weekly pay uses the lowest RLUSD balance caught in hourly snapshots each day, then a seven-day average of those lows, then this formula: (7-day average × effective APR × 7) / 365. Binance says the APR will reflect the lowest daily snapshots, the daily total of qualifying balances, and the seven-day average across all eligible holders. A larger pile against a fixed $200,000 week produces a thinner APR. That is the whole machine.
Worked examples in the notice assume a 20% base APR that has not been set for this round. A user sitting on 10,000 RLUSD as Margin collateral for a full week would be due $38.35 of XRP at that rate. A user who holds 5,000 RLUSD in Margin after borrowing 4,000 USDT and swapping it in would see the 60% haircut cut the countable balance to 2,600, and the same 20% rate would pay $9.97.
The July and August XRP Coupons
This is the third pass, not a first listing stunt. Binance added RLUSD spot pairs on January 22, 2026, then started paying XRP for balances in July. RLUSD supply sat near $1.51 billion when that first coupon opened. It is $2.37 billion now, a 57% rise across the two completed rounds and the weeks between them.
THE THREE RLUSD COUPON ROUNDS
- July 17, 2026: First airdrop opens through August 14 with $800,000 in XRP. Users need 0.01 RLUSD in Earn or Margin and about $500 in average daily Margin or Futures volume.
- August 8, 2026: Binance prints an 8.08% APR for the prior seven days on the same $800,000 pool.
- August 14, 2026: Second round opens through September 11. The exchange posts four more weeks of RLUSD airdrop rewards and a pool of 1 million XRP, with the last seven-day APR at 7.69% and the $500 volume rule still in force.
- September 23, 2026: Third notice lands. The $500 volume rule is gone. Spot and Funding balances count. The prize returns to $800,000 in XRP for September 25 through October 23.
The published APR already shrank as more RLUSD showed up for the rebate. Opening Spot and Funding, and dropping the volume gate, points the same $200,000 weekly purse at a wider qualifying pool. Holders who farmed July and August already saw that slide in the prints. The next four Fridays will show whether the new multipliers offset it, or whether a bigger pile just spreads a smaller rate.
Who Is Locked Out of the XRP Payouts?
Residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, and EU member states cannot join, even if they already hold RLUSD on the exchange. The notice also bars Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and a long list of territories, then says the list is not exhaustive and can change. Restricted accounts are out. KYC is required.
Japan’s presence on that list cuts out a large XRP retail base. The United States and the EU take out the two other obvious onshore pools. The coupon is built for the rest of Binance’s map, which is also where RLUSD has to win deposit share against USDT and USDC without a New York or MiCA retail funnel on this venue.
WEEKLY PAYOUT RULES
- Snapshots: Hourly checks, with the day’s lowest RLUSD balance used as that day’s qualifying figure; a zero print on any day zeros that day.
- Net assets: Borrowed RLUSD (VIP loans, Margin loans) is excluded. Qualifying balance is assets minus liabilities.
- Haircut: RLUSD bought by borrowing USDT, USDC, U, USD1, or FDUSD in Margin is counted at 40% of the leveraged slice after those liabilities are netted.
- Rounding: Payouts round down to two decimal places and can move in time. Binance can suspend Margin borrowing if it sees looping or wash trades.
The haircut is the tell. A user can still lever other dollar coins into RLUSD and collect something, but 60% of that levered slice does not earn. Binance is paying for cash that stays, not for a loop that recycles USDT into a rebate and back again. User B in the notice, who borrowed 5,000 RLUSD and parked the lot in Margin and Earn, is due zero.
Ninth Place Among Dollar Stablecoins
On September 24, stables.cool ranked RLUSD ninth among dollar stablecoins, with the RLUSD supply on Ethereum and the XRP Ledger split $1.31 billion (55.2%) and $1.06 billion (44.8%). The coin peaked at $2.44 billion on September 8, then slipped to $2.37 billion. USDT still holds $181.73 billion and USDC $75.39 billion of a $291.82 billion dollar-stablecoin total.
DOLLAR STABLECOINS BY SUPPLY, SEPTEMBER 24
| Token | Supply | 30-day change |
|---|---|---|
| USDT | $181.73B | +0.19% |
| USDC | $75.39B | +2.58% |
| RLUSD | $2.37B | +13.02% |
Ripple’s own transparency page, as of September 3, showed circulating RLUSD and reserve funds of $2,395.6 million and $2,517.7 million. That is $122.1 million of extra reserves on that date. Standard Custody & Trust Company, a Ripple subsidiary, issues the coin under an NYDFS limited-purpose trust charter, with BNY Mellon as reserve custodian and a whitepaper buffer of at least 103%.
XRP did not ride that float. CoinGlass showed XRP futures open interest near $3.60 billion, down almost 9% over 24 hours, even as the four-hour reading ticked up 1.26%. The rebate is paid in XRP, and XRP still traded near $1.51 while RLUSD sat in ninth place among dollar coins. The two names share a press release. They have not shared a tape.
Simple Earn Pays Extra to Keep RLUSD Parked
New in this round are stacked multipliers that pay extra for growing the pile and for locking it in Simple Earn Flexible Savings. The base APR is still unpublished. The multipliers are not.
HOW THE BONUS MULTIPLIERS STACK
| Case | Rule | Multiplier | If base APR is 10% |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | This week’s daily average qualifying balance minus the higher of the prior two weeks | 1.2x on the increase only | 12% on the new slice |
| B | RLUSD in Simple Earn Flexible Savings | 1.1x | 11% |
| A+B | New funds that also sit in Simple Earn | 1.3x on that slice | 13% |
Binance writes the stack as 1.3x, not 1.1 times 1.2. The extra tenth is a bonus for putting fresh dollars into Earn, not a second full coupon on the whole wallet. The design is simple: pay a little more to people who add RLUSD and then leave it in Flexible Savings, where it is not sitting on the spot book as sellable float.
That is also why the 0.01 Earn or Margin dust still matters. Spot and Funding can fatten the average, but the door only opens if a sliver is already in the yield product or the margin book. The campaign is built to pull dollars off USDT and USDC pairs and park them in RLUSD Earn, with XRP as the receipt.
Four Fridays of Payouts Through October 23
Rewards start accruing at 00:00 UTC on September 25. The four drops are listed for October 2, October 9, October 16, and October 23, each covering the seven days that just closed, with the base APR filled in after the fact. After October 23 the coupon as written ends, unless Binance posts a fourth round the way it posted a second and a third.
The first two rounds already moved RLUSD from about $1.51 billion to a $2.44 billion peak and a $2.37 billion hold, while XRP spent September 24 under $1.64. Friday’s first snapshot will show how much idle RLUSD wants that rebate now that a $500 futures ticket is no longer the price of entry.
