Rockstar Scrubs GTA 6 Map Labels Off a $399.99 Poster

Rockstar put a labeled GTA 6 Leonida map on its $399.99 store photo, then wiped names like Sandbars before the merch pre-order settled.

Rockstar Games briefly published labeled destinations on a GTA 6 map bundled with its $399.99 Vice City Collection, then wiped the type from the store photo. The dual-sided souvenir poster is the only official Leonida chart the company has put on sale, and it does not come with the game.

Pre-orders opened on September 24, 2026. By that evening the first product still had been replaced, with Sandbars, Crude Islands, and two cut-off names gone from the public shot.

Rockstar Sold the Map, Then Blanked the Type

The listing on the Rockstar Store is for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State, Vice City Collection, a limited Collector’s Box inspired by Macca the Gator, a TV show that exists inside Leonida. The set holds 11 items. A note on the page says Grand Theft Auto VI is sold separately.

The last item in that list is a Double-Sided Souvenir Poster with Map of Leonida. The front is illustrated Vice City art built around Macca. The back is the chart people have wanted since Trailer 1 named the state.

Plan a road trip to every corner of the Goodtime State with a full view of the Leonida map featured on the back.

Rockstar Games, Vice City Collection store listing

That line is why the first photo mattered. A road-trip map with readable names is a planning tool. The same poster with the type stripped is a piece of wall art. Rockstar’s own store shot, before the edit, was the only public look at those names, and it sat on the page selling a full view of the Leonida map.

The company has not said why the labels came off. The geography on the drawing did not change. Only the words did.

Sandbars, Crude Islands, Dra, and Beld

The first still was cropped tight enough that only a strip of the chart was easy to read. People who paused on the edges still pulled four strings of type before the file was swapped.

FOUR NAMES ON THE FIRST STORE PHOTO

  • Sandbars: A labeled destination on the edge of the first product still, later removed.
  • Crude Islands: A second named cluster on that same edge, gone after the swap.
  • Dra: A cut-off word at the top or bottom of the frame that matches Draper Island, already tied to Port Gellhorn footage.
  • Beld: A second partial that has not been matched to a full official name.

Sandbars and Crude Islands had not been part of Rockstar’s public location list. They read like coastal or industrial water, which fits a Florida-shaped state with a working gulf side and a tourist Atlantic side, but the poster is stylised. Island outlines on the souvenir art do not line up cleanly with older leaked charts, and that is likely the cartoon finish, not a new coastline.

The louder takeaway is smaller than a datamine. Rockstar is willing to print those words on paper it sells, and unwilling to leave them on a web image that anyone can zoom. Location names are now a marketing asset, drip by drip, even when the map itself is already in the box.

Eleven Collectibles, Zero Copies of the Game

The Vice City Collection is merch. It is not a game edition, and it is not a steelbook with a code tucked in. The English store page hides the price in some regions; other language pages list it at $399.99, with a UK ticket of £349.99. That is five times the $79.99 Standard Edition, and you still have to buy the game.

Rockstar’s own announcement framed the set as a premium collectible with “all the essentials for a good time.”

The box measures 19 by 13.5 by 12.5 inches. It is marked as an adult collectible for ages 18 and over, with a choking warning for small parts and sharp edges, and it is not eligible for free shipping. Pre-orders run while supplies last. Details for Asia, Latin America, and Australia were still coming at announcement.

Almost nothing in the box is about Jason Duval or Lucia Caminos, the couple on the official site. The theme is Macca the Gator. The six-inch figure shows him with a smoke and a flamingo blood martini, and the base twists open as a stash. An electroplated pink glass magnetic mirror tells you to “Reflect on your life choices.” A Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, a Vice City swizzle spoon, and a razor-blade keychain fill out the bar tray.

The rest is licensed streetwear: matte black Oakley Frogskins with Prizm Sapphire lenses and a Vice City pink GTAVI logo, a New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback, a Leonida Keys ripstop crossbody bag, nine enamel pins in a metal tin, and nine vinyl stickers in a stash bag. The 36 by 26 inch poster is the only object that maps the state those brands are selling.

The store copy is doing some of the work a $400 price cannot. A mirror that tells you to think about the purchase writes its own joke. A merch run that already includes an Ultimate Edition, vinyl, a magazine, and a special controller can climb toward four figures before anyone boots the game on November 19. That is the live argument around the box, and the wiped labels sit on top of it rather than replacing it.

Draper Island Was Already on State Route 9

Dra is the one fragment that was not new. Draper Island is logged as a district of Port Gellhorn in Kelly County. The name showed up in Trailer 2 on a Leonida State Route 9 road sign at 2:28, in Port Gellhorn itself.

Port Gellhorn is the faded gulf city on the west coast of Leonida, the industrial counterweight to Vice City’s Atlantic shoreline. Community maps place it below Mount Kalaga National Park and northwest of the Grassrivers wetlands, a stop between northern woods and southern swamp. The souvenir poster’s Draper label, if that is what Dra was, only confirms a sign Rockstar already filmed.

That is why the photo edit looks fussy. Draper Island was already in public footage. Sandbars and Crude Islands add two more pins, not a new state. Beld is still a stump of a word. None of it reads like a build from the November 19 disc. It reads like a studio protecting names it may want to roll out in later ads.

Fan charts built from trailers, screenshots, and an older leaked development map already sketch Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga around that gulf town. The official poster is the first chart Rockstar has sold. It is also, for now, a chart the public is not allowed to read online.

A Fold-Out Map Used to Ship With Every Copy

Rockstar used to treat a paper map as part of the game. On May 23, 2013, the studio’s newswire for Grand Theft Auto V’s Special Edition and Collector’s Edition made that plain. The Special Edition retailed for $79.99 and included a 21.5 by 26.75 inch blueprint map of Los Santos and Blaine County, with extra markings for cash and points of interest. The Collector’s Edition was $149.99 and added a New Era cap and a security-deposit bag, with the game disc still in the box.

A Rockstar reply from that launch said every version of GTA 5 shipped a map with the disc, and that the world was large enough to need a double-sided poster-style chart. The blueprint was extra. The basic two-sided map was not a deluxe bonus. It was how you learned the roads.

HOW A PRINTED GTA MAP HAS BEEN SOLD

Edition Year Price Game in the package Printed map
GTA 5 regular boxed copy 2013 Standard retail Yes, disc Yes, two-sided chart
GTA 5 Special Edition 2013 $79.99 Yes, disc Yes, plus 21.5 by 26.75 in blueprint
GTA 5 Collector’s Edition 2013 $149.99 Yes, disc Yes, plus the Special extras
GTA 6 Standard Edition 2026 $79.99 Download code, no disc Not confirmed
Vice City Collection 2026 $399.99 No Dual-sided souvenir poster

The 2013 Collector’s Edition cost $149.99 and still handed you the game. The 2026 box costs $399.99 and hands you sunglasses, a gator, and a poster. Anyone who wants to play still pays $79.99 or $99.99 on top.

What the $79.99 Case Still Does Not Promise

Rockstar has not said whether the Standard Edition case for GTA 6 includes a fold-out Leonida chart. The $79.99 boxed copy is a code in a box. A disc is not included. Retail copies go on sale from November 12, 2026 so buyers can redeem the code and preload, with the Ultimate Edition at $99.99 adding digital extras only.

That silence is the hole the $399.99 poster fills. If the regular case is empty of paper, the souvenir map is not a deluxe reprint of something everyone gets. It is the official chart, full stop, sold as merch and timed to launch day.

WHAT WE KNOW

  • The box: Eleven physical items, Macca-themed, game sold separately, listed at $399.99.
  • The poster: Dual-sided, Macca art on the front, Leonida on the back, 36 by 26 inches in product specs.
  • The photo: Early store still showed Sandbars, Crude Islands, Dra, and Beld; the live still does not.

WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED

  • Standard paper map: No Rockstar note that the $79.99 case includes a chart.
  • Beld: The partial has no matched full name in public footage.
  • Why the wipe: No studio comment on the edited product photo.

People waiting for a cheap paper map in the game box are waiting on a sentence Rockstar has not written. The studio has specified Oakley lenses and a YKK zipper pull. It has not specified a fold-out for the $79.99 audience.

The Poster Arrives With Launch Day, Not Before

The collection is set to ship from November 19, 2026, the same date Rockstar has on the GTA VI site for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A poster that ships on launch day is not an early-access leak in cardboard. Buyers get the chart when the roads go live, unless a box arrives late.

FROM STORE PHOTO TO LAUNCH DAY

  1. September 24, 2026: Rockstar opens pre-orders for the Vice City Collection and posts the first product photos, including a strip of labeled Leonida map.
  2. September 24, 2026: The store still is replaced; Sandbars, Crude Islands, Dra, and Beld are no longer readable on the live image.
  3. November 12, 2026: Boxed Standard Edition codes go on sale for preload; Rockstar has not listed a map among those contents.
  4. November 19, 2026: Grand Theft Auto VI launches, and the Collector’s Box is listed to ship, poster included.

The names Rockstar pulled off the website are still scheduled to print on the paper inside a $399.99 box. Anyone who wants the labeled chart pays merch money, waits for launch day, and buys the game on the side.
