Take-Two Scrubs a 192GB GTA Leak Four Years On
Take-Two is pulling a 192GB 2022 Rockstar dump of canceled GTA 5 DLC and a 2015 GTA 6 map, a delayed bill landing weeks before launch.
Take-Two has begun pulling videos of a around 192GB Rockstar file dump that sat private since the 2022 hack.
The batch holds a canceled Liberty City add-on for GTA 5, leftover Agent Trevor work, cut story lines, and a very early GTA 6 map. Grand Theft Auto VI still has a November 19, 2026 launch date on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not confirmed this dump. The publisher is treating the files as stolen IP anyway.
A 192GB Archive From 2022 Hits the Open Web
The public drop landed around September 18, 2026, four years to the day after 90 unfinished GTA 6 clips hit GTAForums. Researchers tying the new batch to that breach say this is not a fresh break-in. It is the fuller package that a smaller circle held after a roughly 4GB GTA 5 source slice went public around Christmas 2023.
File-sifters say the dump includes GTA 5 source, debug builds, internal tools, cut missions, unused vehicles, and at least one fully recorded leftover dialogue track. The GTA 6 material inside is thin next to that pile. Low-detail map blockouts and early tests sit beside years of canceled single-player work for GTA 5.
One account of the drip says the complete set had already been posted to a cheat-menu Discord server in 2025 and sat in a miscellaneous channel almost unnoticed. Once the files reached open torrents and YouTube, Take-Two started sending notices.
WHAT THE DUMP CONTAINS
| Set | What turned up | Age |
|---|---|---|
| Liberty City add-on | Shoreline larger than GTA 4’s city, rebuilt from audio zones | Canceled GTA 5 DLC |
| Agent Trevor | Spaceship set, space suits, mansion, underground complex | Canceled GTA 5 DLC |
| GTA 6 map | Low-detail blockouts loaded in old GTA 5 tools | Dated to 2015 |
| Cut GTA 5 story | A darker path for Franklin; an unused Trevor death | Unused dialogue |
Rockstar has not walked through this list. The provenance still rests on people matching the files to the 2022 intrusion, not on a new studio statement.
Liberty City Was Drawn Larger Than GTA 4’s Version
The piece that moved fastest was Liberty City. GTA YouTuber TJGM imported zone data into CodeWalker, the GTA 5 map editor, and traced a shoreline from where coastal audio would play. The outline is larger than the New York stand-in in GTA 4, with a different layout than that game’s islands.
TJGM was clear that the image was not a screenshot packed in the leak. “This isn’t a screenshot included in the leak,” the creator wrote, calling it data viewed in CodeWalker after the fact, sitting beside Rockstar tools and source that people in that scene treat as easy to verify.
A Liberty City project for GTA 5 has been a rumor for years, including an old portfolio shot of the city running in the GTA 5 engine. Fan conversions of Liberty City into GTA 5 have also been shut down before. This dump is the first time the public has seen studio-side zone data at this scale. Some players now argue the city was parked for a later GTA 6 add-on. There is no file in this batch that proves that plan.
What the Agent Trevor Files Still Show
Next to Liberty City sit leftovers from Agent Trevor, the other canceled GTA 5 story add-on. Steven Ogg, who plays Trevor Philips, has said Rockstar shot material for a James Bond-style story that put Trevor undercover for the government. The new files give that shoot a floor plan.
SETS STILL IN THE FILES
- Space job: A spaceship location and space suits, the oddest intact sets people have pulled so far.
- Mansion job: Franklin in an Arabian villa over a large underground complex.
- Cut death: An older Option A ending in which Trevor hits a tank of liquid nitrogen, freezes, and shatters.
- Cut talk: Unused lines, including a darker close for Franklin and leftover chatter with Brucie.
Joseph Rubino, a former senior camera artist at the studio, has already explained why that work died. Teams split between GTA Online, the Trevor add-on, and early Red Dead Redemption 2. Online won the argument.
When GTA Online came out, it was so much of a cash cow and people were loving it so much that it was hard to make an argument that a standalone DLC would out-compete that. Looking back now I would say that you could probably do both, but that was a business decision that they made and I was a little upset about that.

The leak does not revive those add-ons. It only shows how far they got before the studio stopped making the case for them.
The GTA 6 Map Is a 2015 Blockout
The GTA 6 material is the part that sounds like a spoiler and then shrinks on contact. Metadata on the.ymap files dates the blockouts to 2015. The leaked GTA 5 tree is the old gta5/dev_ng branch, frozen around that same period. Rockstar’s live GTA 5 work moved to a title-update branch that is not in this set.
People loading the maps into old tools have posted crude, low-detail layouts. Some shapes rhyme with places already shown in official trailers. That is a 2015 sketch of Leonida, not a ripped copy of the build heading to consoles in November. Analysts who went through the batch keep repeating the same caution: this is a deep-storage snapshot, not a targeted raid on the shipping game.
That gap is why the dump can feel huge and still leave the finished GTA 6 mostly unspoiled. The dangerous footage this summer came from somewhere else.
Take-Two Is Pulling Videos and Handing Out Strikes
By September 21, 2026, Take-Two had started taking down YouTube videos and posts that showed the leaked stills or played the cut audio. Creators who keep posting the stolen files are in line for copyright strikes. The studio’s parent is not matching the 2022 wipe, when lawyers chased the original GTA 6 clips across the open web. The notices are narrower, and they are still landing.
A long-running GTA news account warned the same week that footage of the early GTA 6 map was being pulled, while Atlantic and Warner were striking posts that used unreleased album audio. One user said an Instagram account died after older leak posts. Take-Two has not put out a detailed public note on how far this pass will go.
WHAT WE KNOW
- The action: Videos and posts with leaked visuals or audio are being removed.
- The legal hook: The files came from a hack, not from an official drop or a retail disc.
- The tone: The pass looks lighter than the 2022 GTA 6 purge, with strikes still on the table.
WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED
- Studio sign-off: Rockstar has not confirmed that this 192GB set is authentic.
- The reach: There is no public count of channels hit or claims filed.
- Liberty City’s future: Nothing in the files proves the city is coming back as GTA 6 DLC.
The objection that keeps coming back is simple. GTA 6 footage is a live spoiler. Cut GTA 5 work from a canceled add-on is closer to a studio fossil. Take-Two is still treating both as the same class of stolen property, which is its right under copyright. It is also why the takedowns feel oddly aimed at history.
Why a Four-Year-Old Breach Is Still in Court
The person who opened this door is still on the court list. Arion Kurtaj, then 18 and tied to Lapsus$, was found by a London jury to have carried out the 2022 Rockstar intrusion along with attacks on other firms. He used an Amazon Fire TV Stick, a hotel television, and a phone after his laptop had already been seized. He posted in Rockstar’s Slack and threatened to release source if the company did not reach him on Telegram.
A Court of Appeal summary of the case records twelve hacking offences in the indictment, including the September 2022 hits on Revolut, Uber, and Rockstar. Kurtaj was found unfit to plead. After a jury found he had done the acts, a judge imposed an indefinite hospital order in December 2023. Rockstar told that court the recovery bill ran to $5 million, plus thousands of hours of staff time.
In July 2026 he was moved to an ordinary prison to await a retrial set for November, the same month GTA 6 is due on consoles. The files did not stay in that courtroom. They moved through private hands, a 2025 Discord channel, and then the open web in the anniversary week of the original leak.
THE 2022 BREACH, STILL DRIPPING
- September 18, 2022: Ninety unfinished GTA 6 clips are posted to GTAForums.
- September 19, 2022: Rockstar confirms a network intrusion and says live services and long-term development should hold. Take-Two files an 8-K for investors.
- Christmas 2023: A roughly 4GB public slice of GTA 5 source circulates.
- 2025: The fuller set is posted in a cheat-menu Discord channel and mostly ignored.
- September 18, 2026: Around 192GB reaches the open web. Take-Two starts pulling videos three days later.
On September 19, 2022, Rockstar said it did not expect a long-term effect on development. The game still ships in 2026. The leftover disks did not get the same closure.
GTA Online Took the Slot Meant for Story DLC
Read as a GTA 6 leak, this dump is a misfire. Read as a GTA 5 autopsy, it is blunt. Liberty City and Agent Trevor were real enough to leave zone files, sets, and recorded lines. They were not real enough to beat GTA Online’s money. Rubino’s account still fits the folders: the story add-ons lost a business argument, and the leftovers stayed on disk until someone else’s crime put them in public.
The leak that actually showed playable GTA 6 arrived in August 2026, from an account calling itself CyberLeek. Those clips, which started on August 18, showed combat, driving, and map slices from a much later build. Rockstar, on August 26, called the situation unfortunate and asked people to wait for the finished game on November 19. An Extended Look then ran on August 27. Take-Two went to court for subscriber records in that case. This 192GB set is older, colder, and mostly about work the studio already killed.
Retail copies will not help a leaker copy a disc. The physical edition ships with a download code inside the box, and digital pre-loads open on November 12. That design makes a last-minute disc dump harder. It does nothing to the folders stolen in 2022.
Take-Two can keep striking the YouTube rips of a 2015 blockout and a canceled Liberty City shoreline. The November 19 date has not moved. The four-year-old files are still the ones on the table, and they are still being taken down.
