Police probe into the unexplained death of the 32-year-old woman

The police are investigating the death of a woman who was found at a house in Elgin on Thursday night. The woman has been identified as Kiesha Donaghy, a 32-year-old mother of two. Her death is being treated as unexplained by the authorities.

According to a police statement, officers were called to an address in the Anderson Drive area of Elgin at around 7.20pm on November 17, 2023. Emergency services attended and Kiesha was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

The police have cordoned off multiple residential streets as part of their investigation. They have also appealed for anyone with information to contact them. Detective Inspector Brian Geddes said: “Our thoughts are with Kiesha’s family and friends at this very difficult time. We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of her death and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or spoken to her in the days leading up to this incident.”

Tributes pour in for the “one of a kind” mum

Kiesha’s friends and relatives have paid tribute to her on social media, describing her as a “one of a kind” and a “beautiful soul”. They have also expressed their shock and sadness over her sudden death.

Emily O’Shane, a friend of Kiesha, wrote on Facebook: “R.I.P you were one of a kind and will be missed by so many.” Harry Cross, another friend, said: “Absolutely gutted.” Marie Stockwell added: “Rip Kiesha.” Jade Cruickshank said: “Very sad. Life is so cruel. What in the world do we live in, just horrible and tragic.”

Kiesha’s cousin, Amy Donaghy, shared a picture of her with a heartfelt message. She said: “I can’t believe I’m writing this. My beautiful cousin Kiesha taken from us far too soon. You were the life and soul of every party and always had a smile on your face. You were a loving mum to your two gorgeous boys and a great friend to everyone. You will always be in our hearts and memories. Fly high angel.”

Community rallies to support Kiesha’s family

The local community in Elgin has also shown its support for Kiesha’s family, especially her two young sons. A fundraising page has been set up by a neighbour, Louise McPherson, to help with the funeral costs and other expenses. The page has already raised over £2,000 in less than 24 hours.

Louise wrote on the page: “As many of you know, Kiesha Donaghy sadly passed away last night leaving behind her two beautiful boys. Kiesha was a lovely person who always had a smile on her face and was loved by many. She was a devoted mum who adored her boys and did everything for them. This is a devastating time for her family and friends and we want to do anything we can to help them. Please donate whatever you can to help with the funeral costs and anything else they may need. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

The page has received hundreds of donations and messages of condolence from people who knew Kiesha or were touched by her story. One donor, Donna Macdonald, said: “So sorry for your loss. Kiesha was a lovely girl and a great mum. Thinking of you all.” Another donor, Lisa Stewart, said: “Heartbreaking news. Kiesha was such a bubbly and friendly person. Sending love and strength to her family and friends.”
