Vivalda Scotland Slashes Lead Times for Cedral Facades to Just Three Days

Contractors and merchants across Scotland will soon breathe a sigh of relief as Vivalda ramps up its service — offering Cedral’s popular fibre cement facades in a fraction of the time it used to take.

Faster Turnaround for a Busy Trade

Vivalda’s Cumbernauld branch is now delivering Cedral’s core cladding range on a three-day cycle. That means no more weeks-long waits for a batch of slate grey panels or matching accessories. For many small contractors juggling tight deadlines and weather windows, that’s no small thing.

Wes Hague, Vivalda’s commercial director, didn’t sugar-coat it: “Poor product availability is one of the key frustrations faced by contractors.” And he’s right — ask anyone who’s had to explain to a client why their extension still isn’t watertight.

What’s Actually Available Now?

The faster supply covers Cedral’s most popular shades:

  • Black

  • Platinum Grey

  • Slate Grey

  • Steel Grey

  • White

And they’re not just sending out the boards — the full range of trims and fixings is ready to go too. So there’s no chasing around for that final length of starter profile when you’re halfway up a scaffold in the rain.

Not Just Scotland — The Whole UK in the Loop

While the big news is for Scotland’s contractors, this boost links into a broader UK network.

Vivalda’s West Midlands hub acts like a command centre. Orders can flow out to other branches — Birmingham, Manchester, Hull, Cheltenham, and London. Those sites offer the full Cedral range too — click, lap, smooth — but on a five-day turnaround.

A few days may not sound like much. But when you’re on a tight domestic build, saving a week here and there adds up fast.

Why Does This Matter Now?

It’s not just about speeding up orders. It’s about making sure the UK’s cladding supply chain doesn’t buckle under increasing demand.

The cladding market is still feeling the ripple effects of stricter building standards, post-Grenfell. High-performance, fire-rated facades are in demand, and fibre cement is a popular choice. Installers don’t have time to sit around waiting for materials.

Lewis Walsh, Cedral UK’s head of national accounts, summed it up: “While we already provide seamless delivery of our range nationwide, this investment from Vivalda will make availability… even easier.”

A Boost for Homeowners Too

For homeowners upgrading extensions or adding a modern touch to tired exteriors, these improvements are a win too. No more hearing, “Sorry, we’re still waiting for the cladding to come in.”

In an industry where any hold-up can throw a project’s whole schedule — and budget — into chaos, a few days shaved off lead times can mean fewer grey hairs for everyone.

Scotland’s tradespeople will likely be first to feel the benefit. But with the expanded network, Vivalda’s promise is clear: faster facades, less hassle, and no more playing the waiting game.
