BBC Scotland has announced the commission of a two-part docuseries that will delve into the social history of fashion in Scotland. The project, which will be produced by Two Rivers Media, will be fronted by Kirsty Wark, one of the broadcaster’s most well-known presenters. The docuseries, titled “Icons of Style”, will examine the cultural influences shaping Scottish fashion, showcasing how it has evolved from historical traditions to the modern day.
Wark will guide viewers through Scotland’s rich fashion heritage, exploring key designers, trends, and the role of fashion in shaping the country’s identity. The series aims to shine a light on the often overlooked contributions of Scottish talent to the fashion industry.
Channel 4 Cancels “Escape to Florida”
In other UK commissioning news, Channel 4 has decided to slate the much-anticipated reality series “Escape to Florida”. The show, which was expected to showcase the lives of Brits moving to Florida, will not go ahead as planned, leading to questions about its future. The channel has yet to confirm the exact reasons for the cancellation, but sources suggest it could be due to production issues or a shift in programming priorities.
While the series had initially generated interest for its premise of exploring British expats’ experiences in the Sunshine State, Channel 4 will now focus its attention on other upcoming shows.
