In a magical blend of sound, light, and nature, the Enchanted Forest has become a beloved annual event in Highland Perthshire. An independent economic impact assessment reveals that since its inception in 2002, this captivating show has generated a total economic impact of £73 million. Let’s explore the enchantment:

The Enchanted Forest Community Trust commissioned an economic impact assessment report, focusing on the 2023 event. The report, undertaken by the Tourism Resources Company, highlights the event’s crucial role in delivering an impressive boost to the local tourism economy in and around Pitlochry every autumn.

Visitor Insights

The 2023 Enchanted Forest event attracted up to 83,000 visitors from the UK and beyond, with attendees from 29 different countries. A visitor survey revealed that 91% of attendees visited Pitlochry specifically for The Enchanted Forest event, and 89% were from outside Perth and Kinross. Additionally, 51% stayed overnight, significantly benefiting local businesses.

Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty

The overall event received a 93% positive customer enjoyment rating, with 89% rating the overall value for money as excellent or very good. Repeat customer attendance was at 50%, confirming a growing trend in customer loyalty.

A Must-See Experience

The Enchanted Forest continues to transform Highland Perthshire’s traditionally quiet autumn season into a significant tourism period. Despite weather-related challenges, it remains a mainstay of the tourism calendar, drawing thousands of people from all over the world.
