These awards celebrate the thriving start-up scene across the UK, which has seen remarkable growth in recent years. In 2023 alone, over 900,000 new businesses were founded in the UK, marking a 12% increase from the previous year.
Nurturing Movement Skills
Founded by Gill Erskine in 2021, WildStrong focuses on imparting movement knowledge crucial for maintaining physical well-being as we age. Their Level 1 course delves into understanding our bodies, critical thinking about movement, and the social and natural connections facilitated by physical activity. Erskine expressed pride in the Education & Training category nomination, emphasizing the joy of delivering the course and witnessing students’ engagement and camaraderie.
Celebrating Entrepreneurship
The StartUp Awards, supported nationally by various organizations, recognize the achievements of individuals who transform ideas into opportunities. These start-ups, established within the last three years, have collectively generated nearly 6,000 new jobs and achieved annual sales of £480 million. A panel of seasoned judges will evaluate the finalists, with regional winners advancing to the UK National StartUp Awards final at Ideas Fest in Tring, Hertfordshire on September 12, 2024.
