As the year comes to a close, South Scotland MSP, Brian Whittle, took a moment to reflect on the past year and express his gratitude to those working throughout the festive season. In his message, Whittle highlighted the efforts of essential workers across various sectors, from the NHS and emergency services to care home staff, retail workers, and delivery drivers.
Gratitude for Those Working Through the Holidays
In his festive address, Whittle acknowledged the tireless efforts of individuals who will be working during the holiday season, making the celebrations possible for others. He expressed deep thanks to the NHS, emergency services, and care workers who continue to support communities, as well as the retail staff and delivery drivers who ensure goods reach people’s homes.
“The festive season wouldn’t be the same without the hard work of those who give up their holidays to help others,” Whittle remarked. “These unsung heroes help keep our communities functioning, and I’m grateful for their service.”
A Year of Progress and Connections
Reflecting on the year gone by, Whittle noted that it had been a busy one in his role as an MSP. He shared that his renewed focus on health and sport had brought him back to his roots, with an increased emphasis on helping people lead healthier, longer lives. Over the past year, he had the opportunity to meet with numerous constituents, businesses, and charities across South Scotland, learning about the issues that matter most to them.
“Over the year, it’s been a privilege to hear from so many individuals who are working hard to make a positive impact,” Whittle said. “Across Ayrshire and South Scotland, I’ve seen so many people dedicated to improving their communities, growing businesses, and supporting those who need it most.”
Looking Ahead to a Healthier Future
As he looks toward the future, Whittle expressed optimism for the year ahead. His plans include continuing his work to support the people of South Scotland while focusing on policies that promote access to healthy food and physical activity. He emphasized the importance of making long-term improvements that will benefit individuals’ health and well-being.
“I’m excited to continue the work in the year ahead and to explore ways we can improve access to healthy lifestyles,” he said. “It’s vital that we focus on policies that can have a lasting positive impact on our communities.”
Whittle encouraged anyone with concerns or questions to reach out to him directly, stating that he was always available for discussions and to offer support.
“If there’s anything I can help with or if you have topics you’d like to discuss, please don’t hesitate to get in touch,” Whittle added. “I’m here to listen and assist in any way I can.”
