The difference between these two sizes is called “diacetic acid” or DA for short. Diacitic acid lowers the pH of your drinking water which can be either positive or negative depending on what effect you want. Some people like this because it changes the color and texture of the water.

Other reasons people add diacetic acid into their **drinking water includes lowering iron levels**, raising calcium levels, and altering the concentration of sodium in the water. All of these things help keep our bodies functioning well!

Alfa hemicellulose is an organic compound found in some plants. It acts as a coagulant which helps prevent blood from clotting by binding with proteins in the blood. Recent studies have **shown alfa hemicellulose may also reduce glucose absorption** in the gut, *helping regulate blood glucose levels*.

Some studies suggest ingesting up to 6 grams per day will be enough to achieve this benefits.

## History of the gallon

The imperial system was replaced by metric when the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (or IUPAC) formed the metrication committee in 1897. This included defining the unit we know as the liter, which is now defined as 0.001 kilolitre or 1000 milliliters.

The British Empire retained the use of the pint until 1907, when they officially switched over to the American fluid measurement method called gallons.

A *fluid ounce equals 30 grams*, so one fl oz = 3 pints or 90 litres. Therefore, *1 gal contains equal amounts liquid* as 32 pints! An average size glass bottle for water can be considered a good gauge for how much liquid an **individual drinks per day**.

This article will focus on how many ounces of water you should drink every day to stay hydrated. To make it simple, your goal should be to drink eight glasses of water per day, with each glass being filled up to the brim.

## Converting ounces to gallons

To find how many bottles of water you should have, simply divide the number of ounces by the amount of time it takes to drink that bottle.

The *average person drinks around 2*-3 litres of water per day, which is about 8–12 cups. That’s enough to make sure your body is drinking enough water!

Most people don’t really think much about how many glasses they drink, but some do. For example, a 1 cup glass of **milk equals 250 ml** or 9 oz of liquid. Make sure you account for this when calculating how many bottles you should have.

For instance, if you *like one small coffee* with breakfast every morning, then that’s one cup of milk. Or what about a tall mug of tea? They can add up quickly!

Another way to approximate how many bottles you use each week is to look at the numbers on the back of the pack of water we mentioned above. It will tell you how many fl oz (ounces) are in a gallon.

## Converting gallons to ounces

So how many oz in a fl oz of water? It is easy! Simply divide that number by 0.833 to get your **total amount** of liquid you have!

So, if you want to know how much alcohol is in one drink, **simply multiply** the percent ABV (alcohol content) by the number of drinks in an **average size glass** and then divide this value by 0.83, which is the conversion factor for *fluid ounce measurements*.

## How many 16.9 oz in a gallon

So how many 16.**9 fluid ounce** (1 cup) bottles of water are there *per 1 gallon* of regular gas? There is one bottle that says “Spring” on it, so we will use that for our example.

If you look at the back of the bottle, you can find the volume information. It lists the amount as 20 ounces, which *equals exactly 2 gallons*. Therefore, there are two cups of springwater in each gallon of gasoline!

This seems like a lot, but remember these volumes do not contain alcohol or benzene.

## Find a location

You can also put this in volume form by multiplying by itself so instead of drinking two (2) glasses it would be doubling the amount of *time spent drinking water*.

But there is an easier way to determine how much water you eat! Because *every food item includes* its weight, using those weights to compare against each other allows us to find out how much water you consume.

We will not go into great detail here about nutrition, but just know that most foods are high in sodium content.

## Start building

The next thing to do is determine how many ounces of milk you *drink per cup*. There are different ways to do this, but we will use our own method here!

Simply measure your current glass of milk with an *accurate measuring device* and then write down that number. Now take your desired amount of milk and divide it by your ratio to find out how much milk you should have left over.
