Delhi Police denies permission for Hanuman Jayanti processions in Jahangirpuri
The Delhi Police have denied permission for processions by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and another group in Jahangirpuri area on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. The decision comes in the wake of clashes between two communities in the same area last year. However, the police and paramilitary forces conducted a march in the area to promote communal harmony. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an advisory to all states and Union Territories to ensure peaceful celebrations. Meanwhile, the West Bengal High Court has directed the state government to requisition central forces for maintaining law and order during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations.…
