English Restaurant Chain Expands to Scotland with New Edinburgh Outlet

The popular English restaurant chain, The Ivy Collection, has announced its plans to open its first Scottish location in Edinburgh next year. The new outlet will be located in the former Bank of Scotland building on St Andrew Square, and will offer a variety of dishes and drinks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Ivy Collection: A Brief History

The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries, and cafes that originated from the famous London restaurant, The Ivy. The Ivy was established in 1917 by Abel Giandolini, and soon became a favourite haunt for celebrities, politicians, and royalty. The Ivy was known for its high-quality food, impeccable service, and discreet atmosphere.

In 2014, The Ivy underwent a major refurbishment and reopened with a new look and menu. The Ivy Collection was launched in the same year, with the aim of bringing the same standards of food and hospitality to different locations across the UK. The Ivy Collection now has over 40 outlets in England and Wales, and plans to expand further in the coming years.

The Ivy Edinburgh: What to Expect

The Ivy Edinburgh will be the first Scottish outlet of The Ivy Collection, and will occupy a prominent spot in the heart of the city. The restaurant will be housed in the former Bank of Scotland building, which dates back to 1806 and is a Grade A listed structure. The building has been vacant since 2016, when the bank moved to a new headquarters.

Some of the signature dishes include the shepherd’s pie, the chicken Milanese, and the chocolate bombe. The restaurant will also have a selection of cocktails, wines, and beers, as well as a dedicated afternoon tea service.

The Ivy Edinburgh will be open seven days a week, from early morning to late evening. The restaurant will cater to different occasions and preferences, from casual breakfasts and lunches, to business meetings and special celebrations. The restaurant will also accept walk-ins, as well as bookings.
