Samsung’s Galaxy S26 FE Leak Hands India a ₹10,000 Hike

A leaked Samsung Galaxy S26 FE India price of ₹69,999 lands ₹10,000 above two frozen Fan Edition launches and drops the 512GB SKU.

A leaked India price list puts the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE at ₹69,999 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB/256GB model is listed at ₹79,999, and the 512GB option India received last year is missing from the first wave.

Sales in India are scheduled to begin on 18 September. Samsung has not posted an official local price. The figures come from tipster Abhishek Yadav, who said he obtained an official document.

₹10,000 More Than the Last Two Fan Editions

The base tag is ₹10,000 above the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S25 FE, which both opened in India at ₹59,999 for the same 8GB/128GB cut. The 256GB jump is steeper: ₹14,000 above the ₹65,999 both of those phones carried at launch.

Converted once, ₹69,999 is about $733, a little above the US list. Samsung’s American announcement said the phone starts at $699.99 in the United States for 128GB, with 256GB also on the US sheet and no 512GB SKU there either.

THE FAN EDITION INDIA PRICE LADDER

Model 8GB / 128GB 8GB / 256GB 8GB / 512GB
Galaxy S24 FE (Sept 2024 launch) ₹59,999 ₹65,999 Not sold
Galaxy S25 FE (Sept 2025 launch) ₹59,999 ₹65,999 ₹77,999
Galaxy S26 FE (leaked, Sept 2026) ₹69,999 ₹79,999 Not in first wave

Read across a single row and the new 256GB leak already sits ₹2,000 above last year’s 512GB MRP. That is the trade India is being asked to make before a single launch voucher appears.

Two Fan Editions Held the Line at ₹59,999

Samsung India published the S24 FE at ₹59,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹65,999 for 8GB/256GB on 30 September 2024, with a pre-book sweetener that put 256GB at the 128GB price. A year later it printed the same two opening numbers for the S25 FE and added a 512GB SKU at ₹77,999.

That freeze was the Fan Edition’s India habit. The chip changed, the software generation changed, and the sticker on the door did not.

THE THREE-YEAR FE CALENDAR

  1. September 30, 2024: Samsung India lists the Galaxy S24 FE at ₹59,999 and ₹65,999, with no 512GB model on the sheet.
  2. September 15, 2025: The Galaxy S25 FE lands at the same two prices, plus ₹77,999 for 512GB, and sales start on 29 September 2025.
  3. August 27, 2026: Samsung unveils the Galaxy S26 FE as the first S26 phone on One UI 9, with US pricing from $699.99.
  4. September 3, 2026: Select US carriers start selling it, with wider retail on 4 September.
  5. September 12, 2026: Yadav’s document lists ₹69,999 and ₹79,999 for India and omits 512GB.
  6. September 18, 2026: India sales are scheduled to open, still without a posted MRP.

The pattern broke on the leak sheet, not on a stage. Two autumns of a ₹59,999 door gave way to a ₹69,999 door in the paperwork partners are now circulating.

The 512GB Door India Used Last Year

Storage was how Samsung sold the last Fan Edition here. The 256GB S25 FE was not the phone most people were meant to keep; it was the ticket to 512GB.

WHAT INDIA LOSES AT LAUNCH

  • The 512GB SKU: Last year’s top Fan Edition was ₹77,999, and the leaked S26 FE line does not include it in the first wave.
  • The free upgrade: Samsung India’s S25 FE launch gave buyers who paid for 256GB a storage upgrade worth INR 12,000, so they walked out with 512GB, plus ₹5,000 in bank cashback.
  • A 12GB RAM option: The same leak document also leaves out a 12GB RAM cut, matching the 8GB ceiling both prior India FEs used.

Effective price on that 2025 deal was ₹65,999 for half a terabyte. This year’s leaked 256GB phone is ₹79,999 and stays 256GB. The extra 128GB on the new sheet is itself a ₹10,000 step, the same cash gap as the entire year-on-year hike on the base model.

What the Galaxy S26 FE Ships

The money is going to a new chip and new software on a body that will feel familiar in the hand. Samsung’s US spec block lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 120Hz with 1,900 nits peak, the Exynos 2500 on 3nm, 8GB of RAM, and a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The 45W brick is sold separately. Samsung says a 45W adapter can reach up to a 69% charge in around 30 minutes.

The phone measures 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4 mm and weighs 193g. The rear cameras are a 50MP wide with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, plus a 12MP front camera. It ships with Android 17 and One UI 9, seven generations of OS upgrades, seven years of security updates, and an IP68 rating. India colours follow the global set: Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio.

My FanCam, which first showed up on Samsung’s latest foldables, tracks a chosen person in video and keeps them in frame. Super Steady with Horizontal Lock is on the wide and ultrawide lenses. Those are the camera software changes Samsung is pushing, on hardware that still charges at 45W into a 4,900mAh cell.

Galaxy S26 FE is purposefully designed to deliver the signature strengths of the Galaxy S series, ensuring that every feature makes a meaningful difference in users’ daily lives.

Kim’s line is the brand case for paying more. The leak sheet is the India case for getting less storage while you do it.

How Memory Prices Reached a Fan Edition

This is not a one-brand mood swing. TrendForce’s July memory survey said conventional DRAM contract prices were still set to rise 13 to 18 percent quarter on quarter in the third quarter of 2026, with NAND Flash up 10 to 15 percent, and that smartphone vendors are expected to raise retail prices to offset high LPDRAM costs. In September it put second-quarter DRAM industry revenue at nearly $154.73 billion, up 59.5 percent from the prior quarter, as supply kept moving toward servers and HBM.

A Fan Edition used to be the SKU that absorbed those costs so the door price could stay still. The leaked India list does the opposite: it passes the bill through and cuts the SKU that used the most NAND. Chinese flagships chasing huge batteries in the same window, including the iQOO 16’s 8,400 mAh pack, are hitting the same memory wall, and several of those phones still have no firm India date.

Samsung wins the cleaner margin on a phone that already sells in the US without a 512GB cut. India buyers who treated the FE as the 512GB on-ramp lose that on-ramp before the first weekend of sales.

Eight Gigabytes Still Cap Every India FE

Three India Fan Editions in a row have shipped 8GB of RAM. That ceiling is now sitting under a ₹70,000 sticker. People who keep a dozen camera and AI apps open will feel it sooner than they feel a 3nm GPU chart, and it is the complaint that keeps coming back whenever an FE price leaks.

The same leak package lists a USB 2.0 Type-C port. On a phone sold for 4K video and seven years of software, that port is the piece that will feel old first, because offloading footage still crawls when the cable is the bottleneck. Display size, battery size, and 45W wired charging are carry-overs from the S25 FE. The new chip, One UI 9, and the foldable camera tricks are the paid upgrades.

Pay ₹69,999 and you are buying Exynos 2500 and day-one One UI 9 in a 6.7-inch S-series shell. You are not buying more RAM, a faster cable, a bigger cell, or the 512GB model last year’s voucher put in the bag.

On 18 September, India Finally Gets the Phone

The rest of the first-wave markets have had the S26 FE since 4 September. India waits until 18 September, which is the usual lag and the reason the MRP was still blank when the document leaked. Launch offers, exchange values, and any last-minute 512GB add are not in that paperwork.

WHAT WE KNOW

  • The leak figures: ₹69,999 for 8GB/128GB and ₹79,999 for 8GB/256GB, from Yadav’s document dated around 12 September.
  • The sale date: 18 September in India, after a 27 August unveil and a 4 September global start.
  • The hardware: Exynos 2500, 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED, 4,900mAh, 45W/15W, 50MP triple cameras, One UI 9, seven years of updates.

WHAT IS UNCONFIRMED

  • The official MRP: Samsung India has not published a local price, so the leaked tags can still move.
  • Launch sweeteners: Bank cashback, storage upgrades, and exchange caps are not in the document.
  • A later 512GB cut: Other markets have discussed 512GB; India is only missing it at the start.

Until Samsung publishes an India price, ₹69,999 and ₹79,999 are the numbers partners are circulating. The 18 September sale is when any bank offer or storage sweetener would have to show up if the company wants to soften the jump.
