Victim died in hospital after being shot outside the Anchor Inn
Marc Webley, 38, was one of the two men who were seriously injured following a shooting outside the Anchor Inn pub in Granton, Edinburgh, on 31 December 2023. He was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The other victim, a 39-year-old man, survived the attack and is recovering from his wounds.
Police Scotland launched a murder investigation and have arrested and charged four people in connection with the incident. The latest suspect, a 20-year-old man, was arrested on Thursday and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
Suspects face charges of murder, attempted murder and assault
The first two suspects, Grant Hunter, 32, and Emma McVie, 25, both from Edinburgh, appeared in court on 6 January 2024. They were charged with murder, attempted murder and assault to severe injury and danger of life. They made no plea and were remanded in custody.
A third suspect, a 33-year-old woman, was also arrested and charged earlier this month but was released pending further enquiries.
The police have not revealed the motive behind the shooting or the relationship between the suspects and the victims.
