A Unique Opportunity to Experience Edinburgh’s Festival Season
A short-term study abroad program is giving students a chance to experience Edinburgh during one of the most exciting times of the year. Running from August 15th to 20th in 2025, this program will take students to the heart of Scotland’s capital during its legendary festival season.
Why Edinburgh in August?
August is when Edinburgh truly comes alive. The city hosts some of the world’s most renowned cultural events, drawing artists, writers, and performers from around the globe.
- The Edinburgh International Festival brings together theatre, opera, dance, and music at an unparalleled level. It dates back to 1947, when unofficial performers staged their own shows alongside the main festival. This gave birth to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, now the largest arts festival in the world.
- The Edinburgh Book Festival, established in 1983, is a haven for literature lovers, featuring lively debates and discussions with authors from across the literary spectrum.
- The Edinburgh Art Festival, Scotland’s premier visual arts celebration since 2004, showcases cutting-edge contemporary art alongside historical exhibitions.
With the streets buzzing with performances and exhibitions, the timing of this study abroad program couldn’t be more perfect.

Students will depart from a New York City airport on August 15th, arriving in London the next morning.
