UK Government to monitor bank accounts of benefit claimants
The UK Government is planning to introduce a new law that would allow the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to access the bank accounts of benefit claimants and check for fraud. The law change is expected to be announced in the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement later this month. Why is the Government doing this?
