Beauty fans north of the border have waited years. That wait ends this summer as Sephora UK opens its first-ever stores in Scotland, landing in both Edinburgh and Glasgow with thousands of square feet packed full of exclusive brands.
The French giant, owned by LVMH, confirmed today that a 4,961 sq ft store will open in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter and a slightly larger 5,048 sq ft location will launch at Silverburn in Glasgow.
Exclusive Brands Scottish Shoppers Have Begged For
For the first time ever, people in Scotland will be able to walk in and swatch Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, Tower 28, Half Magic, GXVE by Gwen Stefani, One/Size by Patrick Starrr, and dozens more cult brands that were previously online-only or required a trip to England.
“Our Scottish customers have been incredibly patient and incredibly loud about wanting Sephora,” Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, told Cosmetics Business. “We heard every single one of you. Now we’re bringing double the magic.”
Exact Locations and What We Know So Far
- Edinburgh: St James Quarter – prime spot on the main retail level, opposite Zara and near the new Lego store.
- Glasgow: Silverburn Shopping Centre – taking over a large unit close to the main entrance and next to the cinema.
Both stores will follow Sephora’s latest global design with the iconic black-and-white striped walls, huge beauty stations, and the famous “Sephora Collection” wall at the front.
Opening Dates and Launch Events
Exact dates are still under wraps, but both stores are confirmed to open “this summer 2026”.
Anyone who has queued for a Sephora UK launch before knows what to expect: live DJs, local performers, free mini makeovers, Scottish treats in the queue line, and thousands of pounds worth of goodies handed out on opening day.
Why This Feels Different for Scotland
Scotland hasn’t had a major global beauty player open physical doors in years. The arrival of Sephora is being treated like a proper event.
Social media is already exploding under #SephoraScotland and #SephoraGlasgow, with fans counting down the days and planning road trips from Aberdeen, Dundee, and even the Highlands.
Bigger Picture: Sephora UK’s Rapid UK Takeover
Three years after returning to the UK with Westfield London and Manchester Trafford Centre, Sephora is now on track to hit 20 stores by the end of 2026 – a full year ahead of schedule.
Already open or confirmed for 2026:
- Belfast Victoria Square (first ever store in Ireland – opened 2025)
- Bristol Cabot Circus (spring 2026)
- Two new boutique stores on Carnaby Street and Old Spitalfields Market, London (summer 2026)
- Edinburgh St James Quarter (summer 2026)
- Glasgow Silverburn (summer 2026)
From zero stores in 2022 to potentially 20 by the end of next year, Sephora UK has moved faster than almost anyone predicted.
For millions of Scottish beauty lovers who have watched enviously as England, Wales, and Northern Ireland got their Sephora fix, this summer finally feels like their turn. Two iconic cities, two huge stores, and a whole lot of lipstick, skincare, and glitter heading north.
Get your wishlist ready, Scotland. Sephora is coming, and it’s bringing everything you’ve been missing.
