A shoot wrap-up dinner in Scotland turned into a comedy of errors when actor Deepak Dobriyal found himself at the wrong door—until Ajay Devgn jumped in to help.

What started as a casual post-shoot dinner among the cast of Son of Sardaar 2 took a sharp left into sitcom territory, thanks to Deepak Dobriyal’s quirky outfit and a washroom mishap no one saw coming.
Dobriyal recalled the moment with a grin: “We’d just wrapped up the shoot, and Ajay bhai was hosting dinner. He asked when I could join, and I told him it’d take two hours since my hotel was far. That’s when he said, ‘Just come like this—big skirt n’ all.’”
The “big skirt” wasn’t a fashion choice. It was his costume—part of his character’s look for Son of Sardaar 2, which had him in a traditional outfit resembling a kilt or, as Dobriyal jokingly called it, “a woman’s getup.”
“Should I Use the Gents?”: A Serious Question, a Funny Reaction
The dinner went off without a hitch—until nature called.
Dobriyal admitted he’d held it in for a while. “I hadn’t gone to the washroom in 2-3 hours,” he said. But what came next had everyone laughing.
He asked the group, quite seriously, “Should I use the gents’ washroom?”
That raised some eyebrows. Everyone was confused. But then it hit them—he wasn’t trying to be funny. Wearing a costume that didn’t exactly scream ‘masculine’, he was genuinely unsure what would happen if he walked into the men’s restroom dressed like that.

“He just stood up and said, ‘Don’t worry. I’ll go with you. No one will stop you,’” Dobriyal said. “That gave me confidence.”

Dobriyal followed Ajay Devgn into the washroom area. But the funniest moment came at the very entrance.
Out of nowhere, a woman burst out of the men’s restroom, mid-text on her phone, shouting: “Oh my God! That’s the gents’ washroom! I didn’t see! I didn’t see! I was on my phone!”
Everyone watching was in splits. But the kicker?
“She panicked so hard she grabbed me—me!—thinking I was also going into the wrong washroom,” Dobriyal laughed. “She literally tried to pull me into the ladies’ washroom instead!”
The Cast Couldn’t Stop Laughing
For a minute, no one could speak from laughing too hard. Cast, crew, even onlookers at the restaurant were trying to catch their breath.
“She just assumed I was a woman because of my costume and thought she was saving me,” Dobriyal said. “It was like a sketch from a comedy show.”
One line here: You really can’t script this stuff.
The moment became the talk of the evening. “Ajay bhai just stood there, shook his head, and said, ‘That’s the last time I give you style advice,’” Dobriyal added with a chuckle.
