Right Medicine Pharmacy has named Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland as its charity partner for 2025, marking the second consecutive year of collaboration between the two organizations.
The independent pharmacy group, which operates 43 locations across Scotland, raised £10,000 for CHSS last year through various fundraising events. This year, it aims to surpass that total with an expanded commitment to charitable initiatives.
Continued Support for a Vital Cause
Richard Stephenson, director of operations at Right Medicine Pharmacy, expressed enthusiasm for the renewed partnership:
“We thought the partnership with CHSS was fantastic last year. We had a brilliant year of raising awareness and vital funds for CHSS and had lots of fun along the way! We established a great relationship with CHSS Community Fundraiser Anne Magarin, whose enthusiasm for the charity really inspired us.”
He emphasized the importance of supporting CHSS, noting that chest, heart, and stroke conditions, along with Long Covid, impact many people throughout Scotland.
Fundraising Efforts and Future Plans
Right Medicine Pharmacy staff across Scotland participated in several fundraising activities last year, including:
- Raffles, bake sales, and Christmas jumper days.
- A company-wide charity shop challenge, donating clothing and other goods to CHSS stores.
- Sponsored events like fire walks and Kiltwalks.
For 2025, plans are already in motion to expand these efforts:
- A 10-person team will participate in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk.
- The Head Office team is organizing a Tartan Tea Party in May.
- A company-wide football scratch card fundraiser is in development.
Additionally, CHSS pin badges will be available at pharmacy tills for donations, and Advice Line cards will be distributed at checkout points.
Impact of the Partnership
The £10,000 raised in 2024 provided 500 hours of one-to-one support for CHSS service users in Scotland.
Anne Magarin, Community, Events and Corporate Fundraiser for CHSS, welcomed the renewed commitment:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working in partnership with Right Medicine Pharmacy once again this year after a fantastic 2024. Right Medicine Pharmacy put everything they had into fundraising, and this partnership has helped generate even more awareness of our charity across Scotland.”
She emphasized that CHSS relies on donations and fundraising to sustain its services, expressing gratitude for Right Medicine Pharmacy’s continued dedication.
The partnership aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by chest, heart, and stroke conditions across Scotland.
